AFTER the penetrating heat of the previous day, the Gloucester Golf Ladies were glad to play under cloudy skies for their Summer Competition last Wednesday 10 December.
Johanna Ware achieved a Stableford score of 36 points to storm home in Division 2, which would have been a good score over 18 holes but was even better over the 12-hole competition! Moya Harris won Division 1 with a solid 23 points.
It was the Division 2 players who showed how to make the most of the dry course conditions, taking all the balls on offer. Liane Markey repeated her last week’s great score of 29 points, followed by Julie Paterson, 26, and the increasingly consistent Susie Higgins, 23.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin prize on the 4th and 13th hole was won by Julie Paterson, while Myrelle Fraser took the prize on the 6th hole.
The Gloucester Golf Ladies Summer Competition continues through to late February with a break over the peak holiday season.
