Nightingale wins women’s golf

Rhonda Nightingale.

THE course was looking greener after the recent rain when the Gloucester Golf Ladies played their last event for the year, with the 12-hole Summer Competition last Wednesday, 17 December.

Rhonda Nightingale was the player of the day, winning with 27 points. Balls went to Susie Higgins on 25 points, and Karen Howarth and Moya Harris, both on 23 points.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin prize on the 4th and 13th holes was won by Karen Howarth, while Carolyn Davies took the prize on the 15th hole.

After their golf, the ladies held their Christmas, end of year presentation lunch to celebrate the year – sharing food, a Secret Santa gift and the usual bad jokes from the Christmas crackers.

The Gloucester Golf Ladies will continue their Summer Competition on 14 January 2026.
