WHEN the Gloucester Veteran Golfers turned out for their first outing in 2026 on Tuesday 6 January it was Paul Thibault who stormed home four points ahead of a solid field.
It was a fine, warm day for the Individual Stableford the Veterans regular weekly outing and the winner was Paul Thibault with 40 Stableford points. Four points back at 36 were Anne Wand and Roy Crichton, the leading ball winners. They were followed by Denver Webb 34, with Jim Dunn, Derek Bardwell and Elaine Murray picking up the last three trophy balls with 32 points each.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Ele Fraser and Derek Wand; at the 6th and 15th holes Mark Stone was closest.
On Tuesday 13 January Dale Rabbett sponsored an Individual Stableford and this coming Tuesday, 20 January there will be an Individual Stroke event with a putting competition held in conjunction.
