IT WAS a busy week at the Gloucester Golf Course Monday 22 May through Friday 22 May with the annual Gloucester Veteran Week of Golf taking the four day stage just setting aside the Wednesday for the Gloucester Women Golfers.
The VWOG as it is colloquially named is run under the auspices of the NSW Veteran Golfers Association with VWPOGs run throughout the state each one attracting players from all over, so much so that our Gloucester Veterans confined to organising and stand aside from regular play for the week.
There are three Individual Stableford events on each of the Mondsay, Tuesday and Thursday with a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford for those intrepid enough to stay on for the final day after a Thursday night presentation, which catered or one hundred guests.
The main Individual event is for the NSW Veteran Golfers Association Trophy and the Women’s Winner for 2026 was Sheryn Fuller 37 on a count back from Tina Wasilewicz 37 with Lynette Logan 36, in third spot. The Men’s Winner was Stephen Palfrey 37 with Wayne Fuller 36, second and Allan Jack, 33, third.
The winners of the three-day 54-hole overall event were Tina Wasilewicz 111 for the women players and Stephen Palfrey 99 for the men players. Michelle Palfrey 105 and Lynette Logan 105 finished second and third for the women and Allan Jack 98 and Peter Olsen 95 on a count back did so for the blokes. The 54-hole scratch winners were Jan Kearsley and Wayne Fuller.
