Nightingale, McInnes win Mixed Foursomes

Rhonda Nightingale and Nathan McInnes.

IT WAS another fine sunny day on Sunday 26 July for the Gloucester Golf Club Mixed Foursomes Championships duly won by Rhonda Nightingale and Nathan McInnes.

Foursomes is a 27-hole stroke event in which partners take alternate shots, and, as such, not every golfer’s “cup of tea”.

This did not prevent a fair-sized field from turning out.

The winning pair were Rhonda Nightingale and Nathan McInnes, with a score over 27 holes of 132.

Just one stroke back were runners up Carolyn Davies and Steve MacDonald, 133.

Net winners were Gai Falla and

Trevor Sharp 110¼.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin at the 4th and 13th holes was won by Nathan McInnes while, at the 6th and 15th holes, that honour went to Evelyn Blanch and Deryk Wand.

The long drive trophies at the 8th and 17th holes were won by Cheryl Goodrich and Paul Blanch.
