There’s never a cross word at Bucketts Radio

BUCKETTS Radio, Gloucester’s local community radio station, has been looking for ways to engage its membership.

Lorna Tomkinson, Bucketts Radio newsletter editor, decided a crossword competition might be the answer.

“I wanted to engage the membership and the community,” Tomkinson told News Of The Area.

Avon Valley Meats sponsors the quarterly newsletter, and Sally Whatmore recently won its crossword competition.

“I really enjoy the challenge of crosswords,” she said.

“Winning was a lovely surprise. It’s a great bonus for our weekly budget to get a meat voucher as a prize.”

Bucketts Radio is always looking for local news.

“We love to have local community groups come in and talk about their projects,” Tomkinson said.

“Don’t be shy, drop into the station.”

And of course, the station is always looking for new announcers.

Like to volunteer with Bucketts Radio? Call Shayne on 0459 030 178 or drop into the studio on a Friday between noon and 2pm.

Bucketts Radio’s annual general meeting will be held on Monday, 30 November at 6pm at Club Gloucester.
