IT WAS a warm sunny day for the Gloucester Veteran Golfers on Tuesday 31 March, just perfect for a standout performance from Karen Howarth.
The event was an Individual Stableford sponsored by Julie and Steve Kriss; it attracted a big field of Veteran golfers.
The winner was Karen Howarth with a score of 38 Stableford points. She was one of but two players inside their handicap for the day. Balls were won by Anne Wand 37, Paul Griffiths and Gai Falla 36, with the final two balls to Ian Maggs and Peter Sate 35.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophy at the 4th and 13th holes was won by Mark Stone who backed up for another win at the shorter 6th and 15th holes where he was joined by Karen Howarth.
On Tuesday 7 April the Gloucester Veterans were due to play an Individual Stableford sponsored by Elaine and Bill Murray. Next Tuesday 14 April there will be another Individual Stableford.
