Bev Germon.

WITH the finish of daylight saving, and an extra hour of sleep enjoyed by most, the first round of the Consistency Singles Championship got underway in quite warm conditions. For those who don’t understand how the “Consistency” is scored/played, two players, each with 4 bowls aim for the “kitty” which is replaced by the marker, to a static position, if moved by either player, The 4 closest bowls are scored as descending 4,3,2,1 and awarded to their respective player, with the first player to score 120 points being the winner, each match is overseen by a marker. The first matches saw Kerrie Green 119 defeat Jill Carson 61.Bev Murray 35 (retired) Suzanne Cross 55. Ruth Redman 68(retired) Di Pritchard 73.There was one more match which was played on Monday 13th, with the winner going forward for the second round on Wednesday 15th to play Judy Sheely.Three other matches scheduled for Wednesday are Suzanne Cross versus Karen Heiningher, Kerrie Green versus Bev Germon and Di Pritchard versus Joy Hurworth.
