“HAVE a good weekend” is a sentiment that rang true for a group of painters who gathered in the Gloucester Seventh-day Adventist Church Hall.
“What a lovely afternoon,” said attendee Kim of the Sip and Paint event.
“We learned to layer colours to create a textured background and to let go of perfectionism.”
Letting go of the need to be perfect proved to be both relaxing and enjoyable for many in attendance.
Tracy and her friend Ann Marie shared similar sentiments, saying, “What a great afternoon meeting some very lovely ladies (and a gentleman).”
The Sip and Paint marked the first Ladies’ Time Out event for 2026, a monthly gathering held on the last Sunday of each month.
It was facilitated by instructor Michelle Gow, who confidently led the participants in discovering a different approach to painting.
Beryl Landers, the coordinator of Ladies’ Time Out, was pleasantly surprised by the strong turnout.
“I was most encouraged to see the keen interest in the event.”
Since then, interest has continued to grow, with attendees telling friends, and others asking to be notified of the next Sip and Paint session.
Two other participants, Michelle Wood and her daughter Francis, agreed that it was an afternoon well spent.
“We had such great fun together. and with other ladies we didn’t know,” Michelle said.
“We can’t wait for the next one.”
