Gloucester Scorpions Local Competition

DESPITE a damp start to the morning, the weather held off long enough for all Gloucester Scorpions local competition games to be completed last weekend before the rain arrived.

The Accommodation Gloucester Mini Roos competition saw both Cam Hughes Carpentry and NJL 1on1 Constructions enjoy another fun-filled morning on the pitch. Players continued developing their ball skills, confidence and teamwork while most importantly enjoying their soccer.

In the LMD Building Services Division 3, CalCo Surveyors faced Level Electrical, while Andrew Johnson Carpentry took on Australia Post Gloucester. Across both matches, players are really starting to settle into the season, with strong teamwork and growing confidence becoming evident each week.

The Loveys IGA Gloucester Division 2 competition produced an exciting and closely contested match between Millard Ag and Ollies Service Centre, with Ollies Service Centre narrowly claiming a 5–4 victory in a great game of junior soccer. The scheduled match between Avon Valley Meats and Gloucester Community Shop resulted in a forfeit by Avon Valley Meats due to player numbers, however a friendly game was still played, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to enjoy their morning on the field.

In the Gloss-Ter Carwash Division 1 competition, Gloucester Bowling Club and Betta Gloucester played out an entertaining, high-scoring match. Goals flowed freely from both sides in a very evenly contested game, with Betta Gloucester eventually securing an 8–5 win. Both teams should be congratulated on a fantastic game played in great spirit.

The Turner Freeman Mixed Seniors Competition is off to a great start, registrations are still open for anyone wanting to join in 11:30am on Saturdays for a fun game of soccer.

The club would also like to thank all volunteers, coaches, managers, referees and families who continue to support local junior soccer each week.
