Young Visitor Wins Vets Golf

THE weather was at its best for a mid-winter day at the Gloucester Golf Club on Tuesday 21 July for the Veteran Golfers regular outing, one in which visitor Greg Young took the top honour and its associated trophy home to Kurri.

The event was an Individual Stableford sponsored by Anne and Derek Wand with a good-sized field on show.

The winner and the only player to finish inside handicap was Greg Young a visitor from the Kurri Golf Club; he finished with 37 points. Balls were all won by local players led by Ele Fraser and Carolyn Davies 33, followed by Arthur Poynting and Peter Sate 32, Roy Crichton 31, and Bill Murray and Anne Wand 30.

The Nearest-to the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Carolyn Davies and Roy Crichton with Anne Wand and Bill Murray doing the job at the 6th and 15th holes.

The Gloucester Veteran Golfers were due to play an Individual Stableford sponsored by Max Shepherd on Tuesday 28 July. There will be another Individual Stableford on Tuesday next, 4 July.
