Sharp in Close Medal Win

THERE was only a count back between Trevor Sharp and the field at the Gloucester Golf Club August Medal competition last Saturday, 1 August.

The day was another cool, bright sunny occasion for the Monthly Medal, an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Arkwood Organic Recycling

The Monthly Medal was won by Trevor Sharp with a net round of 72 aided by the handy assistance of a favourable count back.

The A grade net winner was Brendan Murray, 72, and the gross winner was Paul Blanch, 75. In B grade Trevor Sharp, 72, had the best net score with the top gross score in the grade to Brian McInnes, 88. The C grade net winner was Will Bosma, 73, and the best gross score in the grade of 97 was turned in by Paul Griffiths. Balls were won by Trevor Sharp and Brendan Murray72, and six players scoring 73: Will Bosma, Rob Moore, Brian McInnes, Dave Parish, Paul Griffiths and Josh Wilson.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4^th and 13^th holes were won by Brendan Murray, Rob Moore and Arthur Poynting with Brendan Murray and Rob Moore doubling up at the 6^th and 15 holes joined by John Herd in C grade.

The long drive prizes at the 8^th and 17^th holes were won by Dave Parish, Geoff Reynolds and Paul Garland while the closest to the pin in two shots at the 9^th and 18^th holes was Dave Parish.

The Super Sevens for the week ending Friday 31 July was won by Wayne Maddalena with 17 points. Ball winners were Mark Garland and Aurther Poynting 16, Dave Mann 15 and Bill Murray 14.

This coming Saturday and Sunday, 8 and 9 August, the Gloucester Golf Club will be playing the two rounds of its Miodwinter Open. The following Saturday there will be an Individual Stableford sponsored by Riverdown.
