THE Gloucester Veteran Golfers turned out in modest numbers on Tuesday 28 July with Anne Wand two under handicap for a handy win.
The day itself could only be described as brilliant for a mid-winter day.
The event was a Max Shepherd sponsored Individual Stableford and the winner with 38 Stableford points was Anne Wand. She was followed into the club house by ball winners Roy Crichton 37, Peter Buettel 36, with Carolyn Davies, Gai Falla and Gary Peters, 35 apiece picking up the last balls on offer.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophy at the 4th and 13th holes was won by the day’s winner Anne Wand whereas it was Carolyn Davies and Bill Murray who were closest at the 6th and 15th holes.
On Tuesday 4 August the Gloucester Veteran Golfers played an Individual Stableford sponsored by Rod Burrows. This coming Tuesday 11 August there will be a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford.
