THE was a good-sized field on Tuesday 4 August for the Gloucester Veteran Golfers regular competition, one that saw Carolyn Davies in the winner’s circle.
The weather was said to be perfect and that may well have accounted for the tight leaderboard with one-fifth of the field at handicap or better.
The event was an Individual Stableford sponsored by Rod Burrows. The winner was Carolyn Davies with 38 Stableford points. The associated ball competition saw trophies to Cheryl Goodrich and Bill Murray 37, Gary Peters, Jim Dunn and Ele Fraser, 36, and Anne Wand and Derek Bardwell, 34.
The Nearest-to=the-Pion trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Gai Falla and Derek Wand. At the 6th and 15th holes it was Ele Fraser and Steve Hurworth.
This past Tuesday, 11 August, the Gloucester Veterans were due to play a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford and next Tuesday 18 August there will be an Individual Stroke event with an associated putting competition.
