BARRINGTON Coast tourism operators have celebrated a successful night at the 2026 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards, taking home two gold, two silver and two bronze awards in recognition of excellence across the region’s visitor economy.
The awards highlighted the diversity and quality of tourism experiences on offer throughout the MidCoast, with Gloucester businesses enjoying particularly strong success.
MidCoast Council Mayor Claire Pontin said the results reflected the dedication of local tourism operators and reinforced the Barrington Coast’s reputation as a premier destination.
“Gloucester had another particularly strong showing, with local businesses recognised at every award level,” Cr Pontin said.
“This follows Gloucester’s silver award in the Small Tourism Town category earlier this year.”
Among the gold winners were the Manning River Ferry Service in Harrington, which claimed the New Tourism Business award, and The Ridge in Gloucester, which won the Self-contained Accommodation category.
Silver awards went to What’s Beyond the Mile in Old Bar for New Tourism Business and Amaroo Escape in Gloucester for Hosted Accommodation.
Bronze honours were awarded to Discovery Parks Forster in the Caravan and Holiday Parks category and Mograni Creek Estate in Gloucester in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category.
Several Barrington Coast businesses were also recognised as finalists.
Barefoot Boats in Harrington was a finalist in the Tourism Retail, Hire and Services category, alongside the Destination Barrington Coast Visitor Information Centre.
Pacific Ocean Brewery in Tuncurry was also named a finalist in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category.
Mayor Pontin congratulated all winners and finalists, saying their achievements showcased the strength of the local tourism industry.
“Congratulations to all our winners and finalists,” she said.
“Their success reflects the quality of our local tourism offering and helps strengthen the Barrington Coast’s reputation as a destination worth discovering.”
