Big Golf Field in Fraser Trophy

THE Gloucester golfers turned out in numbers for the Bruce Fraser Trophy Day on Saturday 12 September, a bright sunny day clearly presaging the Spring.  

The event was an Individual Stableford and the men’s winner Brian McInnes and the women’s winner Cheryl Goodrich both scoring a healthy 40 Stableford points. The women’s runner up was Sally Higgins. 39. The A grade winner was Nathan McInnes, 35, the B grade winner Stephen Hurworth, 39, and the C grade winner Paul Coote, 37. Balls were won by Brian McInnes and Cheryl Goodrich 40, Stephen Hurworth and Sally Higgins 39, Karen Howarth 38 and Matt Bowden 38, Paul Coote, Brian Osborne and Lesly Harrison 37, Mark Stone, Alecia Mollar, Hayden Mollar, Scott Atkinson, Darryn Wisemantel, and Dave Saunders 36.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Jamie Andrews, John Nicolson and Paul Griffiths in the three men’s grades and Cheryl Goodrich for the women players. At the 6th and 15th holes the trophies went to Steve MacDonald, Stephen Hurworth, Peter Sate and Emma McLeod.

The long drive trophies at the 8th and 17th holes were won by Jamie Andrews, Rob Moore and Josh Wilson in the men’s grades and by Dale Rabbett for the women.

The Super Sevens for the week ending Friday 11 September was won by Ray Pittman who scored 17 points. Balls were won by Wayne Maddalena and Peter Markey 16, and Peter McIntyre, Clint Paton and Wayne Maddalena 15.

This coming Saturday 19 September Harwell Lifts sponsor an Individual Stableford and the following Saturday there will be a Four Person Ambrose.
