LAST Tuesday 22 September was sufficiently damp a day as to deter half the normal field for the Gloucester Veteran Golfers regular outing. Not it seems sufficiently so to prevent Dale Rabbett from turning in a sparkling round five strokes ahead of the field.
The event was an Individual Stroke sponsored by Gary Peters; and the winner, three under her handicap and five ahead of the field was Dale Rabbett, 70. Runner up was Rod Burrows 75, and balls were won by Sally Higgins 76, Debbie Sate, 76, and Hugh Torode 77. The player with the least number of putts on the day was Peter Buettel.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies were won at the 6th and 15th holes by Gai Falla and Rod Burrows. None of the players was able to land on the green in regulation at the 4th and 13th holes.
