THE annual Four-Person Ambrose golf extravaganza sponsored by Knowla Stud drew a near-capacity field at the Gloucester Golf Course on Saturday 26 September, a day perfect for golf, warm and sunny with the course in top condition.
The winning team with a score of 56¾ comprised Greg McLeod, Chris Hammond, Glen Chapman and Matt Allport.
In second place were Paul Blanch, Paul Garland, Dave Robbins and Ben Veitch, 57½, with third place to Terry Ireland, John Ireland, Michael Ireland and Ben Ireland 59¼.
The top women’s team was that of Gai Falla, Debbie Sate, Dale Rabbett and Myrelle Fraser, 61½.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies across the field were won by Col Clark at the 4th and 13th holes and by John Ireland at the 6th and 15th holes.
The long drive at the 8th and 17th holes were won by John Sharpey, Joe Sepos Jnr, and James Laurie in the three men’s grades and by Dale Rabbett for the women in the field.
The Super Sevens for the week ending Friday 25 September was won by Bill Murray with a sore of 17 points.
Balls were won by Ray Pittman 16, Greg West 15, Craig McLeod 14, Wayne Maddalena 14, Dave Mann 14 on a count back.
On Saturday 3 October, the Gloucester Golf Club will be playing for the Monthly Medal, an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Arkwood Organic Recycling. The following Saturday The Two Garys sponsor an Individual Stableford.
