FOUR Gloucester Veteran Golfers finished their rounds within one point of each other on Tuesday 7 April, but it was Colin Clark who won the day a mere count back in the lead.
It was a fine, warm day for the Individual Stableford sponsored by Elaine and Bill Murray. The winner with 37 points was Colin Clark on a countback from the leading ball winner Carolyn Davies 37. Balls were also won by Ele Fraser and Jim Dunn 36, followed by a clutch of players on 33, Derek Wand, Gary Peters, Peter Sate and Trevor Sharp.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Elaine Murray and Mark Stone. At the 6th and 15th holes it was Gai Falla and Dave Saunders best off the teeing area.
This last Tuesday, 14 April, the Gloucester Veteran Golfers played an Individual Stableford whish was also the second round of the Glowing Shield an annual two-day contest with the Wingham Veteran Golfers, so a big field is expected. This coming Tuesday, 21 April, they will play a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford sponsored by Sally and John Higgins.
