Gloucester Library features true crime writer, Alan Leek

FANS of true crime are in for a treat this month as Gloucester Library’s author event features renowned true crime writer, Alan Leek.

Leek is the author of several books including Confronting Murderous Men and Rendezvous with Death.

Most people accept that when they leave for work, they will return home safely.

But for those tasked with protecting the community, that is not a given, as Alan Leek well knows.

A police veteran of 34 years, he served communities in Sydney, the Hawkesbury Region and the Blue Mountains moving through the ranks from Officer in Charge to Superintendent.

In 1987 he was awarded the Peter Mitchell Award for outstanding performance.

His newest book “Blood on the Badge,” examines the dangerous situations that faced police officers in the early 20th century.

If you are interested in learning about true crime as it pertains to Australia, contact Mid Coast Library and register to attend the event, which is on Wednesday 10 June at 10.30am.
