It WAS time for Gloucester Golf Ladies second Monthly Medal for the year last Wednesday, 6 May, under bright Autumn skies.
The course was being watered in preparation for the Veterans Week of Golf and the pins were still in the challenging spots from the Men’s Club Championship round on the weekend and the course got the better of most the players.
The event was an Individual Stableford sponsored by Susie Higgins and the Division 1 winner was Rhonda Nightingale, who finished with an outstanding 39 points.
Rhonda also won the Monthly Medal for the highest Stableford score of the day. Division 2 was won by Dorothea Betts, 32.
Gai Falla also conquered the course, just missing out on a win, with a solid 38 points. Gai won a ball for her efforts, as did Carolyn Davies, 34, Margaret Dunn, 30 and Julie Paterson, 27.
Anne Wand won the Nearest-to-the-Pin trophy at the 4th and 13th holes, while Evelyn Blanch in Division 1, and Liane Markey, Division 2, were on target at the 6th and 15th holes.
On Wednesday, 13 May, the Gloucester Golf Ladies played a Canadian Foursomes sponsored by Liane Markey.
Next Wednesday, 20 May, there will be an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Gai Falla.
