IT WAS a cloudy and cool day on Saturday, 25 October, for the HolidayCo sponsored Four Ball Better Ball Stableford with the win going to a pair of visitors from the Forster Tuncurry Golf Club.
The winning pair were Mark Ware and Bill Fanning who turned in a good Four Ball score of 48 points. Runners up were Paul Thibault and Paul Coote, 46, with Rob Moore and Peter Markey, 45, in third place.
Paul Coote had the best individual score with his 39 points although he did need a count back to clinch the deal.
Balls were won by Mark Ware and Bill Fanning, 48, Paul Thibault and Paul Coote 46 and by Rob Moore and Peter Markey 45.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Paul Blanch, 340 cm, and Ken Thornley, 948 cm, in A and B grades, respectively. At the 6th and 15th holes it was Ben Veitch, 377 cm, in A grade, Doug Blanch, 520 cm, in B grade and John Karen, 403 cm, in C grade.
The long drive trophies at the 8th and 17th holes went to Alan Germon, John Parish and Peter Markey in the three grades.
The winner of the Super Sevens ending Friday, 24 October, was Dave Saunders with a huge 20 Stableford points. He was followed by ball winners Dave Mann 17, Jim Dunn, Jonny Tighe, Evelyn Blanch and Stacey Groves 16, with the last ball on a count back to Doug Blanch, 15.
This coming Saturday, 1 November, the Gloucester Golf Club will be playing their Monthly Medal sponsored by the Arkwood Family. The following Saturday, 8 November Gloucester ceramics will sponsor a two Person Ambrose.
