Wisemantel Wins Golf Medal

THE was a large field in action on Saturday 6 June at the Gloucester Golf Course with a big party of golfers from Orange testing the course although that wasn’t enough to keep Daryl Wisemantel from a handy win for the April Monthly Medal.

The event, played in almost ideal conditions, was an Individual Stroke sponsored by Arkwood Organic Recycling.

The winer of the April Medal was Darryl Wisemantel with a net score of 71, a score which also won him the trophy for the top net score in C grade. Daryl’s gross score of 94 was also the best gross score in the grade. In A grade the net win went to Kyran Laurie for his 75 with the gross win going to Nathan McInnes, 81. In B grade Wayne Maddalena picked up the trophies for net and gross wins with his scores of 73 and 90. Balls were won by Darrel Wisemantel 71, Bill Murray and Wayne Maddalena 73, Kyran Laurie and Nathan McInnes 75, Chris Murray, Paul Griffiths and Jim Colgan, 76.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Ross Jones in A grade after finishing 1532 cm from the hole and by Roy Crichton in B grade, 132 cm away. At the shorter 6th and 15th holes the three grades were represented by Nathan McInnes, 650 cm, Jim Colgan, 335 cm, and Paul Griffiths 803 cm.

The long drive trophies at the 8th and 17th holes were won by Chris Murray, Jack Colgan and Brian Ross.
