Work to begin on Scone Road

WORK on a significant landslip site on Scone Road is expected to begin this week.

During the May 2025 flood event a number of landslips occurred along Scone Road.

Council has undertaken emergency works on most slips to restore access as much as practical.

A significant landslip occurred 2.5km from Geales Bridge, requiring Scone Road to be closed in both directions due to safety concerns.

The proposed works will stabilise the road embankment and restore the roadway to its previous condition.

These works will be funded by Federal Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

The road will reopen to traffic mid-December at the completion of works, subject to weather delays.

Council is progressing design work and funding applications for permanent reconstruction works at other slip locations along Scone Road.

These further works will be undertaken early in 2026.
