THE Gloucester Veteran Golfers turned out in sweltering conditions on Tuesday 9 December not sufficiently so to deter Derek Wand from scoring a solid win.
The event, attracting a good field in the conditions, was an Individual Stableford sponsored by Debbie and Peter Sate.
The winner was Derek Wand, 41, with runner up on a count back Bill Murray, 39. Balls were won by Chris Steele and Jim Dunn 39, Joe Farugia 38, Mark Stone 37 and Carolyn Davies 33.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Carolyn Davies and Joe Farugia. Elaine Murray and Arthur Poynting did the job at the 6th and 15th holes.
Tuesday of this week, 16 December, the Gloucester Veterans played a Gai and Greg Falla sponsored Four Ball Better Ball Stableford. Next Tuesday, Max Shepherd sponsors the Veterans Annual Christmas Cheer Day in the form of an Individual Stableford.
