IT WAS fabulous golfing weather and conditions on Tuesday, 11 August, for the Gloucester Veteran Golfers with Vets captain Gai Falla combining with Derek Bardwell for a close Four Ball win.
The event was a Four Ball Aggregate Stableford sponsored by Joe Farugia. The winners were Gai Falla and Derek Bardwell with a combined 67 points. Balls were won by the following teams: Trevor Sharp and Max Shepherd 66; Paul Griffiths and Will Bosma 66, and Mark Stone and Derek Wand 64.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies and the 4th and 13th holes were won by Anne Wand and Mark Stone. At the 6th and 15th holes it was Anne Wand and Chris Steele who did the job.
Tuesday of this week, 18 August, the Gloucester Vets played an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Rick Paff and next Tuesday, 25 August, there will be an Ele Fraser sponsored Individual Stableford.
