IT WAS Brendon Murray who was the day’s top performer at the Gloucester Golf Course on Saturday 15 August with an individual score three points ahead of the field.

The day’s event, played in picture book conditions, was an Individual Stableford. The winner in A grade was Brendon Murray with 39 Stableford points; runner up was Nathan McInnes, 34. In B grade it was Roy Crichton, 35, with the win, a count back ahead of runner up, Mark Stone, 35. It was another close thing in C grade with winner Paul Garland a count back ahead of runner up, Scott Atkinson, both scoring 36 points.

Balls were won by Brendon Murray, 39, Paul Garland and Scott Atkinson 36, Roy Crichton and Mark Stone 35; Nathan McInnes, Peter Sate, Greg West, Dave Robbins and Josh Wilson 34 and Stacey Groves 33.

At the 4th and 13th holes, it was only Brian McInnes who was able to register a Nearest-to-the-Pin shot off the tee, although it was a full house at the shorter 6th and 15th holes with Paul Blanch, Greg West and Paul Garland representing the three grades.

The long drive trophies at the 8th and 17th holes were won by Paul Blanch in A grade, Brian McInnes in B grade and Dave Robbins in C grade.

The winner of the Super Sevens for the week ending Friday 14 August was Wayne Maddalena with a score of 17 points. Balls were won by Jim Dunn and Wayne Maddalena 16, with the final ball trophies to Dave Mann and Rob Moore, 14.

This coming Saturday, 22 August, the Gloucester Golf Club will be playing a Steve Burns sponsored Individual Stableford. The following Saturday the Bowden family sponsor a Four Person Ambrose.
