Welcome to another year.
For many residents, 2025 was a challenging and difficult 12 months, which saw our region endure the worst flood in recorded history in May, followed by devastating bushfires last month.
The bushfire danger, unfortunately, has not yet abated, and I ask all residents to be prepared in case we have more bushfires this summer.
Despite the devastation, our community came together to support each other through the difficult times.
I witnessed many selfless acts from community members that made me extremely proud to call myself the Mayor of the MidCoast.
While we may live in one of the most unpredictable regions when it comes to weather, we also live in one of the most beautiful, with pristine beaches, stunning mountain ranges, amazing river systems, and most importantly, resilient, caring, and helpful people who proudly call this place home.
As a Council we will continue to work toward delivering for our community.
One of the things we consistently hear about is the need to invest more in our road network.
We are working towards this and our roads will remain as one of our main focus points into the New Year.
I look forward to what 2026 brings and wish you all a year of peace and opportunity.
