BRING your appetite to CWA Evening Branch’s Annual Cancer Support Breakfast on Monday, October 19.
Held in the CWA hall in Church Street, the breakfast will be served between 7.30 am and 10.30 am.
“Our delicious breakfast includes fruit, cereal, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, toast and more’” branch spokeswoman Barbara Reichert told News of the Area.
“Funds go directly to the two Gloucester cancer support groups which help with out-of-pocket expenses while patients receive treatment.
“They often have to travel considerable distances to attend appointments or receive treatment. Often, they also have to pay for accommodation.
“These expenses often come at a time when patients are unable to work.”
Looking to the upcoming festive season, the branch has been approached to cater for a couple of Christmas functions.
On the social side, members enjoyed a day visit to Dungog recently.
“It’s great when you can do the return trip in a day travelling by train,” Reichert said.
“Members enjoyed lunch, shopping and a visit to the local galleries.”
She thanked the community for supporting their Bric a Brac stall on the October long weekend.
“It was a great success.”
