THE first mixed tennis competition of the year came to a conclusion recently and at least five teams were in contention for the title heading into the final night .
In the end, the consistent Team Scott’s – comprising Robyn Scott, Rob Howden and Jeff Cowley – finished on top, narrow victors over the team of Greg Billingham, Marrilyn Snape and Eli Soupides.
Tom Power, Tom Haschek and Melinda Saunders were a close third.
These three teams had been the leading teams throughout the competition and deserved their places on the podium.
The tennis club thanks all players and floaters for another successful mixed comp.
New night comps will be starting soon, men’s on Tuesdays, mixed on Thursdays. New players particularly welcome.
