Will Bosma’s Big Golf Day

Will Bosma.

LAST Saturday, 18 April, the Gloucester Golf Club turned out in numbers although it was Will Bosma who held everyone’s attention with a great individual round and a win in the top event of the day.

The event was a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford with an Individual event in conjunction, all sponsored by Elders Real Estate. In the main event Will Bosma teamed up with Paul Griffiths for a one-point win over runners up Dale Rabbett and Anne Wand 45.

Will Bosma turned in a spectacular individual round for another win with 43 points albeit needing a favourable count back to do so.

Balls in the Four Ball were won by the following pairs: Will Bosma & Paul Griffiths, Dale Rabbett & Anne Wand, Peter Markey & Phil Bowden, Ryan Yates & John Cornelius and Harrison Jones & John Webber.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Harrison Jones in A grade, Brian Osborne in B grade, Peter Markey in C grade with Dale Rabbett doing the job for the women golfers in the field. At the shorter 6th and 15th holes the trophies went Phil Bowden, Peter Sate and Will Bosma in the three men’s grades with Dale Rabbett backing up for the women.

The long drive trophies at the par-5 8th and 17th holes were won by Jamie Andrews, Ryan Yates, Nathan Webber and Dale Rabbett.

The Super Sevens for the week ending Friday 17 April was won on a count back by Mark Garner with 20 points. Ball winners were Doug Blanch 20, and Rod Burrows and Will Bosma 16.

On Saturday 25 April the Gloucester Golf Club will be playing an Individual Stableford and the following Saturday 2 May there will be the May Monthly Medal, an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Arkwood Organic Recycling.
