THERE was a good-sized field on Tuesday 24 March for the Gloucester Veteran Golfers regular outing with Chris Steele a resounding winner.
The event played in warm conditions was an Individual Stroke with a Putting competition held in conjunction, all of which was sponsored by Amanda Robertson.
The winner and the only player inside their handicap was Chris Steele with a net score of 69. Ball winners were John Herd 74, Carolyn Davies and Peter Sate 75, Mark Stone 76, Tony Berecry, Trevor Sharp and Bill Murray 77.
The putting competition was won by Steve Hurworth with a miserly 28 putts.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Carolyn Davies and Peter McIntyre while those at the 6th and 15th holes were won by Karen Howarth and Chris Steele.
On Tuesday 31 March the Gloucester Veteran Golfers played an Individual Stableford sponsored by Julie and Steve Kriss. This coming Tuesday, 7 April, they will play an Individual Stableford sponsored by Elaine and Bill Murray.
