COMMUNITY members gathered to celebrate the official re-opening of the Lions Scenic Walk on Saturday, 14 March.
The upgrade was spearheaded by the Gloucester Lions Club, with assistance from the Australian Lions Foundation, landowner Allan Reynolds, and local businesses.
Popular with visitors and locals alike, the Lions Scenic Walk on Bucketts Road now features newly constructed steps, making it more accessible.
At the end of the walk, a seat has been installed, offering walkers a place to rest and enjoy views of Gloucester.
“The Lions Club are very proud of this project,” said Club President Jeanette Mumford.
Alec Bruce, who coordinated the project for the Gloucester Lions Club, noted that the Reynolds family had played a pivotal role in the process.
“They have offered valuable contributions that benefited the work being carried out,” Alec said.
“The owner’s willingness to help out has been a key factor in overcoming challenges, which has enhanced the efficiency and success of the project.”
Allan Reynolds told News Of The Area, “It was a community effort, and my family and I are very pleased to be part of it.”
To access the Lions Scenic Walk, visitors can use Bucketts Road.
