THE fog had almost lifted as the Gloucester Golf Ladies ventured out to play the first round of their 2026 Championships last Wednesday, 10 June.
The Individual Stroke round of the Championships also doubled as a Women’s Golf NSW Medal event.
Rhonda Nightingale was back in the winner’s circle, taking out Division 1 with a solid net score of 73, while Julie Paterson won Division 2 with a score of 77, both winning prizes from sponsor Karen Howarth.
Gai Falla just missed out on winning her division with a score of 74, taking home the first ball of the day. Myrelle Fraser was also happy to be in the ball rundown, with a score of 77.
The rest of the balls went to a trio on 81 points, Anne Wand, Sally Higgins and Carolyn Davies.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin prize on the 4th and 13th holes was won by Carolyn Davies, with Susie Higgins hitting a great shot onto the green on the 6th and 15th holes to take out the prize for Division 2.
Wednesday, this week 17 June, is the second round of the Women’s Championship and the third and final next week, 24 June.
