IT TOOK a count back for Chris Steeler to claim a win in the Gloucester Veteran Golfers regular outing on Tuesday 30 June.
The day was cool and conditions pleasant for the Veteran’s Individual Stableford. The winner with 38 points and a favourable count back was Chris Steele. Anne Wand was runner up, also with 38 points. Balls were won by Gary Peters 37, Sally Higgins 34, Paul Griffiths 33, Carolyn Davies 32, with the last balls to Rod Burrows, Peter McIntyre and Mark Stone, all scoring 31 points.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Carolyn Davies and Ken Kelly.
This past Tuesday, 7 July, the Gloucester Veteran Golfers were due to play an Individual Stableford and nest week, Tuesday 14 July there will be an Individual Stroke event with a putting competition in conjunction.
