Tuggerah Lakes Caravan Club

WEDNESDAY last week Croquet had a lovely morning with 16 members from the Tuggerah Lakes Caravan Club.  They were visiting Gloucester for the week, staying in our Caravan Park.

Members from our Gloucester Club were hosts and coaches for our visitors and President Ash had come along to extend a warm welcome to them.

The rain, after a short shower at the start, held off allowing a most enjoyable morning of croquet.  After a few hits on a ball, we were straight into organised games.  Our visitors displayed a keenness to participate and were quick to grasp the game showing some great ability with a nice touch of competitiveness thrown in as well. Those assisting from our club were Pam Howard, Chris Sims, Al Minis, Bev Fagan and Bev Murray.

The morning finished with a shake of hands and all joining in the clubhouse for a much-deserved morning tea.

They were all so impressed with their visit.  Fay, their organiser, mentioned they had had a lovely morning at Gloucester Creatives, a most enjoyable country trip taking in some of our local river crossings as well as a meal at one of our local clubs.  The men tried some fly-fishing, and it seemed the ladies enjoyed some local shopping too.

They indicated they’d like to return, so we look forward to that too.
