IT WAS a fine warm day at the Gloucester Course on Tuesday 17 March for the Gloucester Veterans regular outing with Rob Burrows and Derek Bardwell taking top honours.
The event was a Four Ball Aggregate Stableford sponsored by Karen Howarth and the winners were Rod Burrows and Derek Bardwell with an aggregate score of 68 points. Modest though that score might be, it was three points ahead of the leading ball winners Karen Howarth and Jim Dunn 65. Debbie Sate and Ian Maggs 64 were next with the last balls going to Peter Sate and Tony Berecry 63.
Debbie Sate turned in the top individual score of 39 points by virtue of a great round and a count back.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Sally Higgins and Tony Burnet while those at the 6th and 15th holes went to Karen Howarth and Trevor Sharp.
On Tuesday 24 March the Gloucester Veteran Golfers were due to play an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Amanda Robertson. Next Tuesday, 31 March, Julie and Steve Kri9ss will sponsor an Individual Stableford.
