IT WAS the perfect Gloucester autumn day last Wednesday, 29 April, with the pink galahs flocking and the orange leaves falling, as the Gloucester Golf Ladies played their Four Ball Better Ball Championships.
The winning pair was Susie Higgins and Carolyn Davies with 46 Stableford points, edging out Moya Harris and Rhonda Nightingale, 46, on a countback.
“We knew we needed to make that last putt” was the lament of the runners up.
The winners won a voucher each from the sponsor of the day, Amanda Robertson.
Moya Harris and Rhonda Nightingale each won a ball for their efforts, with balls also going to Anne Wand and Gai Falla, only a point behind on 45.
Rhonda Nightingale won the Nearest-to-the-Pin trophy at the 4th and 13th holes while Carolyn Davies was on target at the 6th and 15th holes.
On Wednesday 6 May, the Gloucester Golf Ladies were due to play an Individual Stableford for their Monthly Medal and next Wednesday, 13 May, they will play a Canadian Foursomes sponsored by Lianne Markey.
