THE weather was perfect on Tuesday 28 April as the Glocester Veteran Golfers turned out in numbers for their regular outing with Joe Farugia turning in a card showing a score six better than handicap.
The event was an Individual Stroke sponsored by Chris Steele and the winner with an outstanding net score of 66 was Joe Farrugia. He was followed by seven ball winners headed by Hugh Torode 68, and followed by Steve Hurworth 69, Mark Stone 71, Carolyn Davies and Ken Kelly 72, Anne Wand 73, with Trevor Sharp, 74, picking up the last ball on a count back. The best putter on that day was Steve Hurworth with 27 putts.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Anne Wand and Hugh Torode with Carolyn Davies and Ken Kelly taking that honour at the 6th and 15th holes.
On Tuesday 5 May the Gloucester Veterans were due to play an Individual Stableford sponsored by Ken Kelly. Next Tuesday, 12 May, there will be another Individual Stableford this time sponsored by Debbie and Peter Sate.
