BARRINGTON Tops wildlife sanctuary Aussie Ark will welcome visitors back to its popular Devils in the Wild tours from August, following a short winter break.
The fully guided two-hour experiences take guests behind the scenes of the organisation’s conservation work at its Tomalla sanctuary in the Barrington Tops.
Upper Hunter MP David Layzell highlighted the return of the tours in his latest State Matters newsletter, encouraging residents and visitors to take advantage of the opportunity.
“Aussie Ark’s Barrington Tops sanctuary will resume its Devils in the Wild tours in August after a short winter break,” Mr Layzell said.
“These fully guided two-hour tours take you behind the scenes of the world-leading conservation work at Aussie Ark’s Tomalla site.”
The tours allow visitors to observe Tasmanian Devils living in free-range enclosures while learning about the breeding and rewilding programs helping secure the future of the endangered species.
Guests will also encounter Eastern Quolls, Brush-tailed Rock-wallabies and Potoroos, while meeting hand-raised joeys cared for by Aussie Ark’s expert team.
The conservation organisation has released additional tour dates after strong public demand.
“After exceptionally high demand new tour dates have been released from August to December,” Mr Layzell said.
The scheduled tour dates are 15 and 29 August, 12 September, 24 October, 7 and 21 November, and 5 and 23 December.
Aussie Ark has become internationally recognised for its efforts to protect threatened Australian wildlife, with its Barrington Tops sanctuary providing a secure environment for breeding and conservation programs.
The Devils in the Wild experience offers a rare opportunity for the public to see these iconic native animals while supporting important conservation work in regional New South Wales.
