ANOTHER big field turned out for the Bowden Family Extravaganza held at the Gloucester Golf Course on Saturday 29 August.

The event was a Four Person Ambrose and the winning team comprised Scott Atkinson, Josh Wilson, Dave Parish and Mitch Young who finished ahead by two strokes with their net 57.375. Runners up were Adam Cameron, John Cornelius, Jamie Andrews and Ryan Yates 59.5. In third place were Don Verus, Ken Verus, Will Byrom and Col Doig 60.625.

The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Grant Bowden, Ryan Yates and Pete Markey in the three men’s grades with Evelyn Blanch closest among the women competitors. At the 6th and 15th holes the NTP honours went to Mark Taylor, Clint Patonp, Steve Benson and Ele Fraser.

The long drive prizes at the 8th and 17th holes were won by Dave Parish, Don Heywood and Karen Howarth.

Super Sevens for the week ending Friday 28 August was won by Jim Dunn with 17 points. Ball winners were Stacey Groves and Dave Saunders 16, with the last two to Gary Timbs and Greg West 14.

On Saturday next, 5 September, the Gloucester Golf Club will be playing their Monthly Medal, an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Arkwood Organic recycling. The following Saturday there will be an Individual Stableford sponsored by Ele Fraser.
