THIS Wednesday 13 May, the Gloucester Golf Ladies played a novelty event called Canadian Foursomes with Rhonda Nightingale and Moya Harris winning the day.
Canadian Foursomes is played in pairs; both players hit tee shots, select the best ball, and play alternate shots until the ball is holed.
The course had no need for watering this week, with squalls of showers during the preceding days and that of the event. Pin placements still reflected the challenging needs of the Men’s Club Championship final round on Saturday. The winners were Rhonda Nightingale, following up from her win from the week before, and Moya Harris, both wearing matching bright orange shirts combining for a net score of 72.
They both won a colourful tray of fruit and vegetables from the sponsor of the day, Liane Markey.
Balls were won by Cheryl Goodrich and Carolyn Davies, 75, and Margaret Dunn and Karen Howarth 76.
Sharing the prizes around, Jo Richardson and Pat Burrows won the Nearest-to-the-Pin trophy at the 4th and 13th holes while Cindy Gooch was on target on the 6th and 15th holes.
On Wednesday 20 May there will be a Women’s Golf NSW Medal event, an Individual Stroke event for the Mabel McKenzie Brooch.
Next Wednesday, 27 May, there will be a Three Person Ambrose.
