THE first round of the 2026 tennis interclub competition was held recently, with Laurieton travelling to Gloucester to take on the local team.
With fine weather, the courts in excellent condition and the four local women and four local men primed to take on their Laurieton counterparts, all was set for an excellent afternoon of tennis.
And so it was, with players from both teams giving their best and everyone enjoying both the camaraderie and the competition.
In the end, Laurieton proved too strong on the day and travelled home worthy winners.
Gloucester will play Cundletown in coming weeks in the next round of the competition.
