Free Bowden Brothers gig to support Gloucester Golf Club

PHIL, Grant, Murray, and Matt Bowden, known collectively as the Bowden Brothers, love golf and music.

“The Gloucester Golf Club was our second home when we were kids,” Phil and Matt shared with News Of The Area.

“We were also surrounded by music growing up,” Matt added.

“Our mum and dad, along with our aunts and uncles, all played instruments or sang. Music was a big part of our lives.”

In their twenties, Grant and Phil formed a duo, and in 2009, Matt and Grant joined them.

“It’s a real buzz to play with family,” Phil said.

“What I love most is the harmonies we create.

“We know each other very well, which makes the harmonies come naturally. It’s our greatest asset,” said Matt.

“We have a lot of fun on stage as well, and when the crowd sees the band enjoying themselves, they have fun too.”

Recently, the band performed two shows at the Tamworth Music Festival.

“The venue was jumping, with people packed in tightly; it was hard to find a spot on the dance floor,” Matt recalled.

Now, with a younger member of the family, William Bowden, playing drums, the Bowden Brothers are blending their two passions by playing a free gig to support the Gloucester Golf Club.

“Gloucester is lucky to have such a beautiful golf course,” Phil said.

“However, due to the recent wet weather, no golf has been played, and the club is suffering.”

The Bowden Brothers were eager to offer their services to help.

“We hope our performance will encourage people to come through the door,” Matt said.

The band will showcase many of their favourite songs and share three new ones during the performance, which is set to begin at 6pm on Saturday June 14, at the Gloucester Golf Course.

“No reservations are required unless you’d like to book for dinner. Just come out, enjoy the show, and support our wonderful Gloucester Golf Club,” Phil added.
