VOLUNTEERS from the Gloucester RSL sub-Branch did a brisk business selling ANZAC-themed items on Friday, 17 April.
Offered in the fundraising sale were pens, jewelry, badges, scarves, tea shirts, drinking cups and bottles, shopping bags, caps and more.
RSL sub-Branch Wellbeing Support Officer Sue Salter told NOTA all funds raised stay in the Gloucester region and are used to support veterans and their families.
“Practical support is offered to veterans, who may need equipment such as wheelchairs,” she said.
“Veterans who are struggling with cost-of-living issues can be helped financially.”
Honorary Secretary John Salter said the sub-Branch performs a key function supporting local veterans.
“Importantly, we offer essential support services, advocacy, and a welcoming environment for our veterans, fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie,” John said.
“All veterans are welcome to attend the meeting or the social gathering over a game of darts afterwards.
“Our dedicated team provides assistance and guidance on veteran affairs, pensions, and welfare, ensuring our veterans receive the care and support they deserve.
“Veterans who need support are strongly encouraged to reach out.”
