Higgins Stars in Women’s Golf

A PERFECT Gloucester spring day, Wednesday 30 September, was time for a Four Ball Stableford Multiplier for the Gloucester Golf Ladies with Suzie Higgins the star turn on the day.

The novelty “multiplier” means that, in each pair of players, individual Stableford points are multiplied providing scores ranging from zero to huge. All this means there were large swings in the hole-by-hole points scored.

There was, however, one pair who managed to take their chances to score big, with Dale Rabbett and Susie Higgins winning the day with 94 points. Both won prizes from Rhonda Nightingale, the sponsor for the day. Balls were won by Anne Wand and Myrelle Fraser with another great team score of 87 points. Susie Higgins had the best individual score with an amazing 44 points.

Debbie Sate took out the Nearest-to-the-Pin prize on the 4th and 13th holes, with Dale Rabbett getting closest to the pin on the 6th and 15th holes.

On Wednesday 7 October the Gloucester Golf Ladies played an Individual Stableford event, doubling as the Monthly Medal Playoff for those players who won a medal during the year. Next Wednesday, 14 October there will be an Individual Stableford in the annual Town versus Country challenge.
