THE fact that overcast and windy weather at the Gloucester Golf Course on Tuesday 21 April was a tad unfriendly did not stop some incredible scores being recorded with Liam Wamsley and Debbie Sate six points ahead of a high scoring field in the Four Ball event and Anne Wand turning in a score seven ahead of handicap in the associated Individual event.
The event, sponsored by Sally and John Higgins, was a Four Ball Better Ball Stableford and the winning pair were Liam Wamsley and Debbie Sate with a spectacular 54 points. The top individual score, a whopping 45, was that of Anne Wand.
In the associated ball competition, the winning teams were Anne Wand and Chris Steele 48, sponsor Sally Higgins and Ele Fraser 46, Carolyn Davies and Will Bosma 44 and Gai Falla and Derek Wand 43.
The Nearest-to-the-Pin trophies at the 4th and 13th holes were won by Carolyn Davies and Trevor Sharp while Mark Stone was the sole recipient at the 6th and 15th holes.
On Tuesday 28 April the Gloucester Veterans were due to play an Individual Stroke event sponsored by Chris Steele. The Veterans first outing in May on the 5th is scheduled as an Individual Stableford sponsored by Elaine and Bill Murray.
